Christ is our Redeemer
Since its beginning in Penn Hills in 1900, Redeemer exists to make Christ’s redemption by His Blood known. In 1900 that meant using English in all our services when many Lutheran churches did not worship in our country’s language. In 2025 that means that we clearly teach and confess the whole truth of God’s whole Word, the Bible, so that if you come here, you will know Christ as the only Redeemer and the Holy Trinity as the only true God.
About our pastor
Rev. Dr. Adam C. Koontz is our pastor since answering to call to Redeemer in April 2024. He was born in Pittsburgh and raised in Pine Grove, Pennsylvania. He has served congregations in eastern PA and in Colorado and taught New Testament in Indiana. He holds an earned doctorate from Temple University in New Testament and patristics. He is writing a complete commentary on the Bible that anyone can easily use. He and his wife and children make their home in Plum.
